Independent member for Strategic Health Planning
Jonathan recently retired after a 37 year career in the NHS and latterly was responsible for population health and health improvement for the 275 000 people living in both Canterbury and Swale. A graduate of the universities of Leicester, Bristol and Kent he is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. He has served on the UK Board of the Public Health Register and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges Health Inequalities Forum. Dr Sexton remains a part time lecturer in Public Health at Canterbury Christ Church University. He is a Trustee of Home Start Canterbury and Coastal and is also Independent Chair of the Standards Committee of Thanet District Council
In his spare time Jonathan enjoys reading, walking and sings in a chamber choir.
