One of the key aims of the Clinical Commissioning Groups is to reduce inequalities in health under Section 14 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. In response to this, Canterbury and Coastal CCG has developed a number of key local health improvement strategies designed to address a broad range of needs across the area.
As part of this process, a comprehensive needs assessment has been conducted across all towns in the Canterbury and Coastal region. The aim of this study is to identify both those areas and population groups most in need, and how these issues might be addressed by the teams working in those areas.
How will this happen?
Each town within the region has its own dedicated leadership team, known as a 'Town Team'. These teams will inform the decisions that the Governing Body makes in how best to commission healthcare services in that area.
