Local people and organisations are being invited to attend the next meeting of the group which plans and buys healthcare services in Canterbury, Faversham, Herne Bay, Whitstable and Sandwich and the surrounding areas.
The monthly governing body meeting of NHS Canterbury and Coastal Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will take place on Wednesday 7 August 2013, 2pm at The Guildhall, Sandwich.
It is the first time the governing body has met in Sandwich and members very much hope that local people will come along to observe the meeting and ask questions if they wish. Ten minutes are set aside for questions at the start and end of the meeting.
Dr Mark Jones, Bridge GP and Chair of NHS Canterbury and Coastal CGG, said: “We are committed to listening and responding to our patients. I would encourage people to come along and put their healthcare questions to us. I particularly hope that people from Sandwich, Ash and the surrounding areas will take the opportunity to come to this meeting.
"Hearing from people across the community helps us to shape and continue improving healthcare services in this area.”
People can have an opportunity to influence CCG decisions by getting involved via their GP practice or the CCG’s Health Network. Most practices have patient participation groups, where people can find out what is happening within their practice and the CCG. The groups are also a channel for patients’ voices through to the CCG.
Anyone who would like to submit questions in advance of the meeting is encouraged to contact the CCG by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01227 791359.
The agenda and meeting papers will be published seven days before the meeting.
